When someone collapses in front of you, do you know what to do? Did you know that if the person who collapsed has any chance at all, it will be because they were defibrillator and /or had CPR performed on them prior to EMS arrival.

Four to six minutes is all they have to have any chance of survival. Are you ready? Do you know what to do? If your child or someone in the next booth starts choking, do you know what to do?

Your Jasper County Fire/Rescue Department is now offering CPR Saturdays. Community CPR, Choking, and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) training. We currently offer training for certified classes to meet requirements for job performance as an employment benefit.

Family and Friends is CPR training for the community where certification is not required but the life-saving information is still shared. This course is ideal for parents, grandparents, caregivers, fitness centers, or community groups. Best of all, THIS CLASS IS FREE! Class sizes will be limited to 14.

The first date this is being offered is Saturday, Feb. 17, starting at 10 a.m.. The class will run approximately 90 minutes. Class will be held at Fire Station 3 at 185 Hwy 212 W next to the Primary school. Please call our administrative office at 706-468-4943 to reserve your spot.

If you can’t make this one or it is already full, we will be offering several more soon.

We’re excited to have Jasper County 100 percent CPR trained! Stay safe Jasper!
