Presidential Election Recount

November 23, 2020

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-495, Jasper County Elections will hold a Recount of the November 3, 2020 General Election for the Presidential Race on November 24, 2020. Logic and Accuracy Testing of the equipment to be used in the Recount will begin at 9:00 a.m. on November 24, 2020. This will take place in the Election Room on the ground floor of the Courthouse.

Update: The Tax Commissioner’s Office is now Open

Tax Commissioner Office Closed

The Jasper County Tax Commissioner’s Office will be closed this week (November 9th -13th). Payments can be made online.

Election Drop boxes

Hello Jasper County Voters,
I wanted to let you all be aware as ballots are coming to your mailboxes that if you do not want to mail your ballots back we now have two drop boxes. The drop boxes are located on both sides of the Courthouse.
1 – is on the Warren Street side of the Courthouse
2 – is in the alley on the left of the Courthouse (it’s a big gray box)
We check these at least once a day. If you have any questions please call us at 706-468-4908.

Commissioner Carl Pennamon

It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Commissioner Mr. Carl Pennamon on Sunday, September 6, 2020. Mr. Pennamon was among the longest serving Commissioners in the State of Georgia. He served nine (9) terms as a Commissioner for Jasper County in District 1. He was a true example of a dedicated Public Servant. His passing leaves a huge void in our community. We will forever cherish his memories and the sacrifices he made for the citizens of Jasper County and Monticello, Georgia. On behalf of the Board of Commissioners and staff we send our heartfelt condolences to the Pennamon Family.

 

Advanced Disposal Curbside Service

Advance Disposal has had an outbreak of positive Corona-virus cases with their employees. They are working hard to make sure that our citizens are safe and everyone’s curbside is still serviced this week. They are aiming to have everyone serviced by Saturday, September 5th.

Jasper County Board of Commissioners Offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd in observance.

 

Jasper County Landfill will be closed Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th in observance.

 

Jasper County Public Safety will continue to operate to serve the needs of our citizens.

Pursuant to the State Election Board Emergency Rule 183-1-14-0.7-.15, Processing Absentee Ballots Prior to Election Day, this notice is to inform the citizens of Jasper County that the Jasper County Superintendent and Registrar’s Office will begin Processing the Absentee Ballots cast in the June 9, 2020, General Primary Election on Monday June 8, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and on Tuesday June 9, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. – completion. This will take place in the Registrar’s Office at 126 West Greene Street, Monticello, GA 31064.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(3), the Jasper County Election Superintendent is notifying the citizens of Jasper County that the tabulation process of the Absentee Ballots cast in the June 9, 2020 General Primary Election will begin as early as 9:00 A.M. on June 9, 2020. Tabulation will take place at the Jasper County Registrar’s Office at 126 West Greene Street, Monticello, GA 31064.
